Make-Up And Hair, in case you were wondering.

This started as a little side-project when a Make-up artist got in touch with me to help her build up a portfolio of her work.

The fact is that my style of photo-taking is ideal for her circumstances because although my lighting is sometimes a little harsh and one-directional, it’s also quite neutral in terms of colour cast.

I do the bare minimum of post-processing, with the result that the photos in this category (and most of the others!) are quite a faithful record, which is what she needed.

There’s not much point having pictures of your make-up skills if you can’t see how much of the work was the make-up and how much was Lightroom.

It’s a kind of photography that I enjoy and I will be on the lookout for further similar opportunities.
